Maria Anguiano

Executive Vice President, ASU Learning Enterprise

I create high quality affordable higher education solutions that will allow individuals to thrive in the 21st Century.

Currently, I lead the advancement of the Arizona State University Learning Enterprise – a premier lifelong learning global education brand. The ASU Learning Enterprise serves learners of all ages and backgrounds to inspire curiosity, wonder and hope, in alignment with ASU’s charter and goals of advancing excellence in education, broadening access, and having a meaningful societal impact in a rapidly evolving, technology-fueled world.

Arizona State University has developed a new model for the American research university, creating an institution that is committed to access, excellence and impact. ASU measures itself by those it includes, not by those it excludes, and how they succeed.

Prior to this role, I worked at the Minerva Project , where I focused on helping expand access to the highest quality education to students at an affordable price point by leveraging technology and a completely integrated curriculum focused on the 21st century skills students need.

Earlier in my career, I served as UC Riverside’s as Vice Chancellor of Planning and Budget and at the Office of the President as the Deputy Chief of Staff to President Janet Napolitano. During my tenure at the University of California (UC), I have tackled some of the most challenging and complex financial problems facing UC systemwide. I have also held finance roles at Barclays Capital and Deloitte.

I am currently a member of the Board of Regents for the University of California and serve on several other boards including the James Irvine Foundation, KIPP Foundation, and the Campaign for College Opportunity. I hold an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.
